Service Project Mentoring

I've been asked to mentor a high school senior as she completes her senior project. She works with my son at a local sub shop. He discovered what she was working on and sent her to me.

I've never mentored a high school student before, I am excited! I've been mentor to new teachers and to my own (younger) students, though.

Gina's project is to sew a Civil War era dress. She is taking in a huge project! She asked me to be her mentor, knowing that I have some experience sewing (especially costumes), but I do not claim to be professional level. Not even close!

Still, this will be a learning experience for both of us.

We are planning to meet today to look at patterns.
